Perhaps even possible to add tea tree oil to the wash?

Oh... just read back and chick has also mentioned tea tree oil... choice!

Bx

The ammonia in pee gets a lot more concentrated when bubs are teething. But also second the strip wash We use Use about ¼ cup of cheap washing up detergent, to strip ours. Hot wash, maximum 60deg and rinse until the bubbles are gone. Ive heard some of the PUL doesnt like the vinegar (I think its the PUL?) anyway its worked great for us
And also (Im not sure if you are doing this already) but generally you only need half the amount of laundry detergent that you would use if it was a clothes load

From memory I think I rinse them, then put 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of vinegar in the wash with an extra 1/2 cup white vinegar in the final rinse.

I use fitted naps as part of my stash and I find they can get very smelly if they are not totally dry when I use them. I know a lot of people use Surf Sensitive powder with no worries but I found after a while of using that on DD's pockets I had the same issue as you. I stripped the nappies and changed to Am-O-Lin liquid and a few drops of tea tree oil in a cold wash, haven't had any problems since.

I just found a really simple way to strip them on one of the nappy sites I was looking at earlier. Wash them in a hot wash with a bit of dishwashing liquid then rinse them until there are no more bubbles.
There is another method using baking soda and vinegar, that should be somewhere in the cloth nappy threads.

Might be more effective? I dunno. I use Canesten every few washes and our nappies smell fine. Also, where possible try to dry them in the sun - works wonders.

Also, maybe they need a strip wash? Perhaps have a search in the Cloth Nappy thread for details on how to do one?
