Plain tasting is so much more normal to our wee ones! LOL

I called Plunketline and they suggested (if she's old enough) trying jelly (cos it's got a high water content), iceblocks/ice cubes, the syrine thing, a spoon, sippy cup, drink bottle, a cup/glass, through a straw... For me I found a frozen wet flannel half was the one that did the trick.

Sounds like you've already tried some of these so I hope you find something that works soon!

    Author: Kimnthekids
Subject: 37890
Posted: 06 February 2011 at 11:40am

So just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks for getting fluid in a 9 month old. She's bottle fed - but refused all bar 1 bottle since lunchtime yesterday. She normally drinks water well from a sippy cup with straw, but as soon as its in her mouth she spits it out.
Tried icecubes in the mesh feeder, she'll suck for about 20 seconds then throw it. Even tried a wet cloth to suck on.

Its so hot and muggy in auckland, and she's been battling high temps since thursday night. We had about an hour of vomitting last night, but nothing since. Other than the temps, and refusal to drink/eat - she seems happy enough, other than tired. Just want some fluids in her!!!
