I never missed a period. Stopped bleeding from the birth at about 2 weeks. 2 weeks later my periods were back like clockwork. i have definatly ovulated every month since. Luca is fully breastfed and starting solids now. he's finally down to 1 feed at night. We are doing a FET in the next 2 months. I've heard of people dropping down to just a couple of breastfeeds per day and then picking them back up after the transfer. Not too sure how well this works though.

Mind you, we were using nipple shields so wonder if that had an effect, maybe less nipple stimulation or something?

Anyway, my point is that everyone is so different and the actual time spent BF can make not a blind bit of difference.

I am certainly interested in this increase ferility thing while BF, off to check out link....this is probably a stupid question, I am def ovulating every month and my cycles are regular as clockwork so does BF have any impact now or none whatsoever??

Just had to say it's cool how your tickers say your DD2 is 5months, 4weeks and 2days old, and it's 5months, 4weeks and 2days till your DD1s next birthday

hehe not sure why I noticed that, it just caught my eye

ETA and seeing I'm here I may as well answer the question... I didn't ovulate till after my DD weaned at 13months. I got AF back at 8months but had it every 8-10days () till she weaned. Just looked at my chart, and she had her last BF on March 16th last year, and my 1st ovulation was April 25th.

Hope you take after the people who do ovulate while BFing!

Edited by rachelsea

I was one of the last of the Dec09 mums and I got it back at 11 months.

Otherwise, if you do want to encourage it, you could try night weaning her when she is a bit older, so that you have a long period without nursing each night? It's actually the frequent suckling, rather than the milk production that inhibits ovulation

Good luck

Most people I know - like the Jan 2010 mums, got it back by about 7 months.
