We use the Philps. Never had any issue. Also has a night light which is handy at times. Brought it off trademe as a lot of the new monitors are expensive. I love our Angelcare monitor - gives me alot of peace of mind when bubs sleeps for long periods, I don't go rushing in to see if she is still breathing, so for that reason I highly recommend it. I have the Oricom 500 which is really good. Got it on sale online but can't remember where now.
It has a night light, thermometer and lullabys that can all be activated from the parent unit. Only really using it for the thermometer at the moment as it gets pretty cold here at night but the sound is reallly clear. We have the Tommy Tippee monitor- with the sensor pad and thermo. I reserached a lot before buying. Bought because it was cheaper than Angel.

Its FANTASTIC!! We have not had once false alarm.. its gone off twice when she was in her first week...got her up and she started breathing again.
It goes off exactly 20secs after no movement.
Thermo is accurate and sooo useful. receiver lets us hear her when she is in bed and we are downstairs.
little sensor light shows each movement.. which i find sueful to know its on and working.. and she is breathing!

I have an oricom secure 200 - really like it! Did heaps of research before getting it and am happy with my purchase. Cheapest place I found it was Baby universe website. (it's 169 at baby cite, but just 129 on this website)

We have a phillips one with the thermometer. I love it, especially as DS room can be a fridge in winter, even tho our room is warm.

It also plays lullabies, which I used right from birth and even now (16mth) its calming for him when he is sick.

We do have problems with it randomly losing its link when its on my side of the bed and beeping in the middle of the night, but its fine on DH side. We haven't been able to work out why. Something must be interfering with it.

I like that it doesn't activate on the first noise unless its for a length of tim, so if it gives him a chance to resettle before I go in. We've got the angelcare that was inherited from bil. Never used the movement part, just the sound. We're still using it as have big house and gardens. Am happy enough with it, never had any problems.

We have angelcare - used for both children, in fact still using now.

Have had no real issues with it - With DS it went off a few times because he had wedged himself in the top corner of the cot and so it couldnt detect his movement, but i was happy enough as it meant i could tuck him back in heh.

We've mainly used it for the movement side though, as have always lived in a house that the bedrooms are close.

We have a Philips Avent monitor and love it, we've had it since DS was born and we've never had any problems with it and it's super easy to use and very clear.

Howdie everyone:)

I am currently researching monitors and am getting more and more confused. We are looking at both the Angelcare and Philips brands but don't seem to be getting any closer with our decision making lol.

If anyone has purchased one already and is able to offer feedback/recommendations, your help with this would be most appreciated.
