Christmas was good here, nice but a little hard at the same time. My dad has just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which doesn't have a very long prognosis with it so Christmas was a little bitter sweet this year. Hey guys how are we all? Damon is bring a trial to get to sleep today. Took an hour to get him for his nap and now its just about to past the hour mark to get him to sleep for the night. M20- Aww if your not 100% sure maybe give your body a break and give you and your other family so time togeather to have family time. Glad you have somthing else to think about. Also somthing that really helped me when I miscarried the first time was writing a small letter in the baby book we had got for that baby. Hey all, as Panda said, sadly things for us didn't end to well. I went into hospital Wednesday last week as something just didn't feel right, had a scan and there was just a gest sac and a yolk sac measuring 5w5d when I should have been 7w2d. Got home at about Lunch time that day and straight away started cramping/bleeding etc. My best friend is currently fourteen weeks pregnant which I will admit is a bit hard sometimes (love her to death and can't think of a more deserving person to have a wee baby) but am starting work on her baby shower (miles away I know lol) present this coming week so hopefully having something to focus on will be good. We are definitely going to be trying again, some days I want to start trying as soon as possible and other days I just don't know. Hey girls

Hope everyone is doing okay! Life gets so busy that its hard to remember to check in here.

We are expecting baby number two! We are happy though it was a bit of an early surprise. Mum2Ollie already knows as we were briefly in the same birth group but sadly for her it wasn't meant to be. So we are cautious too but the morning sickness isn't letting up which I will take as a good sign.

Hey ladies been a bit slack lately! How is everyone going? Cute things Emmy does? Hmmm. He is just really really pushy! I sing to him sometimes and he promptly wacks my mouth to shut me up haha. He brings us stuff when he wants it but can't work it out himself. He will not tolerate being read to as he just doesn't want to sit still for that long. He's pretty bloody full on to be honest. He doesn't want to hold my hand ever nor does he want to sit in his pram. He's a pretty bloody quick runner. So I am buying him a harness and reins! They have super cute ones on Ebay that look like little animal backpacks so waiting for that to arrive. yum for homemade potatoes! yep loving this beautiful sunny weather though Zac is really hard to keep a hat on! He pulls it off instantly. I made ties for it but he ripped them out May have to get a toggle style hat.

Zac isn't overly keen on holding my hand and sometimes he doesn't but I walk and block him from walking towards the road. He doesn't really try anything though and we have a quiet area to walk which makes it easier. Man if I let PT walk down the street we would cause some sort of accident he doesn't hold my hand and just wanders about telling me all about what he is seeing - so he only gets to walk around our place and when there is open space or two people!!!

Love September because for me its the start of all the good things to happen over the next few months..

Does anyone have cute things their baby does to share? Zac has recently learnt to bring something to us if he wants it, mostly books so I am reading him stories all day pretty much! Yeah when I said I was leaving and why it was like I called them all bad mothers (the play centre mum) was shocked by how personally they all took it!

I think I'll join a casual little play group or something. Play centre was really full on and far too political for me personally.

Wow, it's been forever since I was in here! Hi everyone! Good to see the little ones doing so well. Madeline still has a morning nap and an afternoon nap Nadia, Have been to play centre a few times but it really is a nightmare and think I will leave it for another term when she is older!

Haha Damon will not hold my hand either! He can now stand up and walk along without having to get up on anything.

Hey

Yes we have been very busy lately! We finally have a fulltime walker!! Its been about a week and a half now? So cute to watch but he is stubborn. Walking him to the fruit shop (a few houses down) and he refuses to hold my hand.. guess the independence is starting!

Sick of winter too though admittedly it has probably been warmer here than where you guys are and I feel it is warming up a bit? Yep I so know what you mean - we went to DH's mothers place yesterday for a change of scene, which was great and today we had a friend come to visit for an hour or so which is good and I have just walked him to sleep for fingers crossed he will remain a happy boy!

It is meant to be clearing on Monday.... something (hopefully) to look forward to.

Nadia - winter colds suck PT has one as well and this one it seems like he has a constant runny nose grrr poor things and the weather I am getting sick of rain!!! Although it is winter so as long as we get a good summer I will be happy.

m2o-Im the same with no letting Damon sleep in our bed! He has never been aloud to sleep in our bed and im not starting as he would think he can every night! He is a good sleeper at night but hardly has a day nap.

M2O - man I wish I had your little sleepers. PT is generally good (although putting up a good fight at the moment) but is an early riser so wakes around 5.30 (sometimes earlier) but we leave him in his own cot till 6 then get up, oh how I wish he would sleep longer but it is better than being awake at 3am for about an hour, which has only just recently stopped so baby steps!

And tantrums yep PT has started them already as well, very funny but not cool either. Hi QueenBee! How rude of me not to say hello before!
Emmett has no cot problems, but I'm probably considered to be quite mean when it comes to sleeping. My family is constantly telling me I'm too harsh lol. Neither of my boys have EVER slept in my bed. I will not allow it. If Oliver (my eldest) is unwell he is welcome to watch TV in my bed during the day but his bedtime routine stays the same and he sleeps in his own bed. It's been that way since he was born and Emmett gets the same deal. My kids are amazing sleepers. Both boys are in bed at 6 and up between half six and half seven. Emmett still has two sleeps a day averaging about an hour and a half to two hours. Damon loves to pull a tantrums hes been doing then for awhile now also.
Panda- Damons one nap is also right in the middle of the day around 12.30-1ish so it can be a pain in the bum but its usaly only a hour as it is. If we are out in the buggy or car it will only be 30min

Damon has no problem with his cot yet thankgoodness if he didn't sleep it would drive me nutts!

Sophie has been throwing tantrums for awhile. For the most part we try ignore them. She also gets very jealous when 1 of her brothers is giving me a cuddle or sitting on my knee.
She has stopped liking her cot- does anybody else have this problem? She will go to sleep on our bed and I transfer her to the cot but when she wakes up in there all hell breaks loose. Oh yes they suck! When I say No Zac falls dramatically on the ground crying lol. It is kind of cute but also embarrassing in public! At home I just ignore them. Its relatively new so trying to stop him doing them by praising him when he listens to me because sometimes (not often though) if I say No he will stop and back away from what he is doing. Hope it works!

Oh dear hope Emmett doesn't get naughty for you! I guess it is a bit of luck as to what personality type you get for your baby?! Nadia we are on one day nap here too, its good and its not. Its in the middle of the day so if I want him to have a good nap I really have to be home for it. He will sleep in the pram/car but its much shorter.. Pain in the bum!

We still have a wobbly close to walking baby. He is walking more steps each day so hoping he will be full time walking soon! Sooo close.

Emmett is doing well, he's babbling a whole heap more and pointing at EVERYTHING (including my eye which I must say hurts A LOT) he is such a cuddly little thing and my parents have nicknamed him Koala Baby since once he's up in your arms you can't put him down, if you try to he clings on for dear life. Aroha- Aw wow thats good hes still having two sleeps. Damon is one one that has been 12.30-1.30pm so not long enough lol but atleast it gets him over the day. Damon loves playcentre and its a fantastic thing for them but maybe you could wait till you don't have the little monster having his morning nap. Atleast he has plenty of time yet to get there when the time suits you better!
Love how they smile when they are not doing what they are ment too! Drives me up the wall somtimes.

Nadia - we are trying to work out whether or not to go to PlayCentre. We have to commit to two days a week at the one that is close to us (one I can walk to) but the other one 10min drive you can go once a week if you want. PT is still on two sleeps (would love to go to one) but he normally sleeps from 9-11 and PC is 9-12 so kind of pointless I think at the moment.

When PT walks up to something he isn't allowed to touch he looks at you then smiles and keeps going towards it! Grrr funny but annoying at the same time.

Ah I so know that lack of sleep feeling. It seems we don't have routine sleep at the moment! Every day is different with Zac probably due to teething..

I can remember how cold it was in NZ! We used to have terrible condensation issues where we lived and our place felt really damp in winter and it had a heat pump! Over here we don't get anything as bad so we are very lucky.

Damon - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Yep another cold day yesterday was zero when we headed out for coffee with PT (he wasn't impressed) but all was made up for with a freshly baked date scone yummmm.

Well off to do a few things while PT is sleeping, he was up early this morning and DH decided that it was a good idea to get up and watch some tennis at 1am so I am a bit tired this morning.

Hope everyone is good and Panda I am wishing I had the warm Sydney winter, however loving the lovely sunny day weather we have been having but wish it was a couple of degrees warmer.

Panda - we might (huge might) be coming to Sydney later this year for a holiday, depending on what happens with a plumbing issue we have here at the moment, so it is between Sydney, Melb or Brisbane. We have just past Zac's first birthday here too. Had a party and some family flew over from NZ which was lovely but it means we have been busy entertaining them.

Sounds like it has been very cold in NZ! It is quite cold here but during the day it is fine so I really don't envy you guys. Especially now we have to try keep babies (I guess they are toddlers now?) warm.

Damon is doing great! Last Thurday he took his first 3 steps and today less than a week latter he is walking around the whole house
But we have to go to the Doc on Friday as he still seems to have a sort of refulx thing

Damon seems to have quite bad balance somtimes but hes getting there. Its more a sceard of falling thing it seems.

Yep nearly the big 1! Hes really starting to change and grow up more too I just cant belive the changes that are seem to happen every day!

Nadia - yeah PT was in the wars the other day (falling over) but seems to be back on balance now - although had a terrible nights sleep - I am so tired but on a third cuppa tea soon the caffeine will kick in I am sure

We have not been too bad these last couple of days 2degrees at night and today you could nearly say it was warm. It was not windy or raining and after the fog lifted at 11.30 this morning the sun shone! Although there was not too much heat it was soooo nice!!! Hows your weather?
Crashes as in fall overs and bangs? Cause Damon is the king with those.
Go Aroha on the big 1yr you now only have 17to go haha.

Well I made it PT is one today! I can't believe that it was a year ago but here we are one year on YAY. Poor wee thing has had to big crashes this morning. Aroha- We are quite frozen starting to never leave the house lol! Although yesterday was not bad I think it even got to 14 in the day! And a low of 6 which is awsome because for weeks its been under 0 at night.

PT is sleeping like a champion at the moment, we did sleep training in the weekend and now we have had nearly a whole week of 11-13hr night sleeps I am starting to feel normal again!! Bliss. Lol Mum2Ollie I am feeling the same! My baby boy is growing up so now I am thinking of another one.. but I want Zac to be a little older before I do it again just so he is more independent so maybe start trying in December. One of my Mum friends got pregnant 3 months after having her baby! Then her baby came 4 weeks early!


Oh cool, Zac is doing the lunging or sitting back down at the moment. Will just keep encouraging him He is really good at climbing though.. that is not a good thing! Wow go the walking babys! Damon is all better now and back into everything! Hes super active and busy has to be doing a new thing every two seconds.

I am happy to wait for awhile before even thinking of number two. I don't think you are insane - I just don't want to go through the MS and the sleepless nights and the needing to pee all the time with a toddler around AND then the whole newborn thing again I know it is meant to be easier the second time around but I somehow think that isn't always the case.

Panda - PT was lunging at us and he still is but manages to get a couple of steps in now before the lung and is taking a step or two before going down on all fours.

Hi all back from my night away in Wellington was great but a little downer was my flight from Auckland to Wellington was cancelled due to fog so I was at the airport from 9am till 5.30pm. I managed to start and finish a book 'mothers group' lovely book so so so so sad but great at the same time. Not such a good look sitting at the airport with tears in my eyes from reading the book.
