Sounds like thrush! I didn't want Blake ingesting anything either so I used 'grapefruit seed extract' on my nipples and his mouth. I also tried a baking soda mixture. Yeah what weegee said, sounds like thrush and keep feeding.

I got thrush quite bad on my nipples when DD was newborn, she had it in her mouth, I used that gel stuff in her mouth and I used micreme on my nipples, but washed my nipples before feeding, and that cleared it up really well.
It was excruciatingly painful to feed but only lasted a wee while!

Yes it does definitely sound like thrush! And yes definitely do keep feeding off that side.

this really isn't as TMI as it sounds...

I've noticed a whole heap of little red bumps appear on my right breast in the last few days and wondered if it could be a form of thrush?? They're mainly around the nipple area (south side only) but also spreading onto the main part of the breast, covering an area about the size of a coffee cup...

I can't see any white spots in Josh's mouth, but it is a little itchy and that nipple is getting quite sore - like when you first start feeding.
