She is absolutely fine in every other way, so me thinks its just the teething.
Thanks for your input!

He also ate less when his top ones came through not so long ago. As long as bubs seems healthy and is gaining weight I'd say there's nothing to worry about.

We had a bad 24 hrs a few weeks ago when he had a really unsettled night, woke up at 6am and would only stop crying and go back to sleep when cuddled up with me and would start crying as soon as I moved him away. And he also had a runny nose and hardly ate a thing.

DF is quite neurotic and if Isla is ever even the slightest bit grouchy he's like 'take her to the Doctor!' lol but she is fine. Just being a grump and not sleeping and not eating lol. But she is happy enough. She only woke once during the night last night which was great! So hopefully things will get back to normal now. I just wish she'd start eating more cause I hate wasting food. I make it all myself so it's not like I'm paying for jars of food and wasting them, but still......
Thanks again

We had been seeing some really good nights from her prior to this and quite consistently too, so what I am getting at is that I believe it could be teeth causing it for your DD too. As for the food intake, yep, it is pretty normal for them to have fluctuating interest in it especially before 12mo - I actually really like the saying that food is "just for fun before they're one".

That said, trust your gut - she is your baby and you do know best about what is going on with her even if on the surface you feel unsure.

    Author: Richie
Subject: 35921
Posted: 25 September 2010 at 10:33pm

Question time - The last week or so, Isla has been waking several times during the night (she will normally wake only 1hr after going down) then again around 1-2am and again sometime just before 5am. Sometimes more than that. She normally sleeps 10hrs a night uninterrupted and has done since she was 7wks old so this isn't like her at all. She has had a bit of a runny nose but people have told me that it could just be part of teething (her two bottom teeth have just come thru) cause she doesn't have any other symptoms of a cold or anything like that. I was thinking tonight, and for about the same amount of time that her sleeping patterns have been all mucked up, she hasn't been very interested in her solids. Normally she will munch it up no probs. Like her mouth will be wide open wanting more the second she swallows a mouthful. But now she will have maybe 2-3 little baby spoons full and then refuse anymore. And that is only twice a day. So breakfast and dinner. She had been having 3 meals a day but doesn't show any interest in lunch now. She has cut back on the amount of BF's too. Normally I'd feed her both sides at each feeding time (3hrly during the day) but now she will only have one and she wont take the other one for maybe 2-3hrs after. She will still take both sides for her morning feed and the feed just before bedtime. She's certainly not fading away but she has been a bit grizzly lately which I just put down to teething. I'm just worried that she isn't get enough to eat cause she's not having anywhere near as much as she used to. Do you think I should be worried at all?? DF thinks maybe I should take her to the Docs incase but last time I took her for something fairly vague like this they basically just said 'she's a baby, they have off days'. Help!!
