What a friend did in the card she gave me was really lovely, she gave me the card along with a range of chocolate bars, and then had instructions in the card.
So for the time-out bar, she said it was to be eaten when the baby was asleep and I was having some time out to myself.

Depending on how close you are with the recipient you might want to write something about being parents and how great you think they'll be or something.
