He was always happy when he woke up, so I just went with it, but then about 3 weeks later he went back to sleeping for 2 hours at a time again.  So for him it was just a phase.]]>

Rather than drift in and out of light sleep throughout the night, babies now wake fully between sleep cycles. <br /><br />So it's very normal, hoping you may be able to get some good advice from it!<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by MrsEmma</span>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=23939">lilliz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 35775<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 16 September 2010 at 1:39pm<br /><br />My son has always been able to self settle inbetween sleep cycles but now all of a sudden since turning 5 months, he can't or won't!<br /><br />He sleeps through the night beautifully and we don't hear a peep out of him till 7am, but day sleeps are another whole story.<br /><br />I put him down for this sleeps during the day and he will go for one sleep cycle and thats it.  I give him a chance to resettle but he refuses.  The last few days I have just gotten him up as he is so upset and far too over it to think about sleeping.<br /><br />If I hold him, he would drop off to sleep but there's no way I'm getting into that habit!<br /><br />Any suggestions of how I can reteach him to self settle?
