we don't have a bath, C is old enough to shower and Ty I bath in the baby bath (its quite a deep one)
I put it in the shower, fill it up using the shower tap and it fills up very fast.

I just bathed DD in a baby bath till she got too big and then she had showers with us until she could sit up... now she stands or sits in the shower she loves it. She like the door shut and washes herself!!! No bath here either.

We just got them used to the shower from newborns, and now they both love showers. Bella sits in her bath seat as she is still a bit wobbly on her feet even though shes well and truly walking, and Caden just stands/sits and plays with toys.

The only thing I find really hard is that it KILLS my back(its bad anyways), so I usually get DH to do the showers!

I used to put the baby bath in the shower box and the kids would both sit in it, but now that they are both bigger, that wont work.
Ive been thinking about getting a big plasicmstorage container thingy from the warehouse and bathing them in that, then they would both be able to sit in it. We had a bath in our old place when C was first born (up till 5mo) but we used a baby bath anyway! I filled it in the kitchen and bathed him in the lounge, put the bath on top of a towel.

For the first couple of months in our new place I would bath him outside on the verandah and then once he was big enough to sit safely on the shower floor I just put him in the shower each night. He'd been having the occasional shower with DH or I from birth as well (a couple of times a week). We have a detachable hose/shower head which helps but it's not essential. C loves playing on the floor in the shower and now that I'm heavily pregnant it's great not having to lift him in and out of a bath or lean over the bath to wash him. Forgot to mention that when I shower with him I just wheel the change table into the bathroom and lay him on that once we've finished (our shower is over our bath).

we just have a plastic baby bath, it's got the plug in the bottom so we can empty it over the kitchen sink. we used a large bucket which has two handles - from briscoes or bunnings - can also be used as a toy box later. We don't have a bath either and we also use a Tummy Tub - DH couldn't believe at first that I paid around $50 for a bucket but now says it has been one of our best investments (and they have great resell value on TM).

We tried it at the hospital but we felt that because he couldn't hold his head up himself it was quite difficult to use (being first timers and all!) so we bought a big baby bath which we used for the first few months. Once he could hold his head up a bit better we started using it (plus he outgrew the baby bath early on as he is a big boy!) and he loves it (well he doesn't know what he is missing I guess by not having a big bath!). We don't have a bath. I will either shower with DS and have done right from the start. It did worry me a bit to start with as I'd heard lots of the slippery bub's stories too, but it really is easy as. DH is usually at work when I do the bath routine so I do it all on my own and have never had a problem with it.

Otherwise, I just bath him in a big baby bath. He's 8 months now and looks like he'll be happy enough in that for a while yet.

Our shower isn't detachable but I just keep a small plastic container in the bathroom and bucket the water from the sink to the bath and then tip it in the shower when we're done. Easy as.

We had no bath (still don't) and we bathed Ryan first in the kitchen sink, then as he got a bit older he either got a shower or we used a paddling pool at the bottom of the shower (makes it easy to flip and drain). This is a really good question - i have no bath either and i really don't want to have to lug big containers of water around the house for bathing! Our shower doesnt detatch to a hose though. Hi, the sink will probably do for a while as they're so tiny, even my 9lbs 6oz boy was bathed in our sink for ages even tho we have a change table with bath underneath, sometimes it was easier and less hassle to bath in the sink.

I also used to on occassions when DH was home, shower with our Son. It's not as scary as you would think, just don't use bath products on them to start if you're worried about them slipping out.

It says to put it in the bath, but I can't see why it can't just sit on the floor or in a shower.

Thanks for your help, I was intending to bath baby in the sink to start with, will have a look out for a big plastic tub.

The shower has one of those long hose attachments for the tap so shouldn't be too hard to fill up a small tub for her.

I'll start with that, not sure how well I'll get on having a shower with her.. Been hearing some fun stories of slippery babies and slippery mums.

When we visited my parents at their old place they had a wet shower and no bath so we used one of those big plastic storage boxes. The girls loved it. We had a tummy tub but DH loves his bath so much that he would kick and get all excited. We dont have a bath which I find a huge PITA. We also have the level access shower which is great, but not so good for bubs. You could jump in the shower with your baby or sit on the floor and if it has a hose use that.

We have a bath but recently went away and there wasn't a bath so had to make do with the shower. DD hates water on her face so hated being under the shower but didn't mind sitting and having the hose on her.

Sinks are good too, kitchen or laundry if big enough.

Baby baths or there are Tummy tubs and I have seen them, they basically look like a bucket tbh and is supposed to replicate being in the womb in terms of baby's positioning and the warm water if that makes sense.

ETA: Paddling pools! Yes a friend of ours does this!

It took us four years to put in a bath here, oops, anyway, we just used a large tub (a pink party tub from p'n's for $10) til the kids were about 3, was great as we could put it on the floor in front of the fire on cold days.

I don't have the problem myself but I have a friend who only has a shower and she has a little, I guess you'd call it a paddling pool, that she bathes him in. There's these baths called Tummy Tubs - which baby can use till they're 3 (although they are about $50 and more or less a big bucket) but i've heard they're really good, when I went away to my bach there isn't a bath there but a decent sized sink so we put T in that and he loved it, and also he's had his little bath seat in the shower when he was littler , hth

We are moving to a new house (military accommodation) there is a wet floor shower and no bath.
No great problem when our baby first arrives.

Does anyone else have a house without a bath and how do you go about bathing your babies and children?
