last year I used coffee grounds (who knows where I read that) but it actually did seem to work. I was planning on getting crushed seashells from up the road, might deter the boys from going on the garden too! Sink yoghurt pots into the soil and half fill with beer then the slugs/snails will drown. There is something that is safe for pets (maybe the one you got) I guess that maybe its safe for humans too?

Eggshells can work but not really 100% as you have to have tonnes of them. and puppy dog tails! hehe.. I use baking soda.. makes them foam ;) Beer is also good, just make sure kiddies dont see you do it, although its not going to kill them if they get it. You just put a wee bit in a jar lid and put it in a little box.
