The first time I stretched it out I nearly gave in sooo many times. Jiggling and walking helped but if you can even go a bit longer than what you have been each feed it'll slowly improve. My problem was that she was snack feeding all day AND all night. I found it hard to tell the difference between tired and hungry or just grizzly too.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday! You might find having some extra hands will help get his feeds further apart too

How I got her to feed properly was to offer change offer then no more for 3 hours then I gradually lengthened the time between feeds until it was 3.5-4 hourly. The first day was hard as she was wanting a feed and I had to make her wait to break the cycle. Then next day she fed and slept way better.

You could try feeding your daughter with your son in a bouncer then swap too so he is less distracted, until he is feeding better.

Meanwhile she looks back but keeps munching...so cute but annoying

so far today shes had one good feed a sleep and another good feed and on the mat playing and I expect she will self settle again well while he hasn't slept yet

    Author: UpsyDaisy
Subject: 35333
Posted: 19 August 2010 at 10:32am

For the last 4 days DS has been snack breastfeeding he has been feeding every 2-3 hours and has hardly slept throughout yesterday.

Is not a growth spurt this time just feeds for 5 mins stops looks around looks up at me smiling, offer again and he just mucks about then time for bed and I can't get him to sleep he just lies in bed for a while eg 30m then starts grizzling as not full and decides wants some more . As day goes on he becomes more tired so after just a few mins gets snoozy which he did not used to do. I am doing exactly the same as normal it is not that he is feeding quicker he would normally take 20 m to feed I really feel that he is just snacking as his nappies are now alot lighter

I have really struggled to get so far BF twins and was feeling that they were finally getting in a good pattern... I thought I was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as they were sleeping 8 hours at night but now he has started waking again at night. I am sure its because he is not getting enough.

His sister is still having good feeds good sleeps and wetter nappies so they are now completely out of sinc during the day and its doing my head in.....

People I have spoken to say they can do this about this age as so much more aware of surroundings...hoping someone can tell me this is a stage that will pass quickly because right now not sure how long can keep doing this for...
