Mine was a bit flasher with a hood on it as well. It's in really good condition - near new and picked it up from TM for $25. I still use it if I want to have a shower and no one to watch DS. I found it really helpful in those early months, especially when he needed to be upright after feeds so he wouldn't spill so much.

I've looked after another baby who could care less about the vibration function so I just didn't use it.

DS did get rocked to sleep early on but I wouldn't use a bouncer to do it unless he was a terrible sleeper and he wasn't. I don't know if it's the kind of habit I'd want my child to be into or for it to become his sleep association you know??
