Author: kiwi2
Subject: 35246
Posted: 14 August 2010 at 10:20am

I used to put them in a pillowcase in a regular wash in the washing machine. Normally they aren't too messy and just need a freshen up which this is good for. If it is a messy item then I would handwash, put in the pillowcase and spin to dry and then hang or lie flat. I find if you put them in a handwash or woollens cycle you need to do one at a time or they get or fluffy. I handwashed them all before baby was born. After due to lack of time and sleep it became the pillowcase routine.

ETA this was for hand knitted woollens. For the merino I would just do what it says on the tag and same for the blankets if they are commercial ones. By regular wash I mean in with all the other clothes of the same colour.

Edited by kiwi2

(if they're still making them)
By hand?
Or is the washing machine good enough?

Think I'm in a must have everything perfect stage - I ironed cot sheets last weekend, although I have a funny feeling that might be the first and last time they see the iron!
