I really feel the cold so a breastfeeding singlet under a hoodie etc isn't warm enough for me. Also, pulling tops over baby like my mum used to do doesn't work for me either as my son is an incredibly fussy baby who screams and refuses to feed when I try this. And if your baby throws up a lot, you'll also need more than just a couple. I've got 3 merino breastfeeding tops, 4 singlets, 2 going out tops, and 4 Egg twist tops and even that's not enough with the amount of vomiting my baby does! The majority have been bought off trademe over the past few months. Trademe rocks.

They cover your tummy and I wear a top over it which I pull up then unclip the singlet and feed.

Otherwise if I used my bf bra I wear a boobtube over it and pull that down or I wear a stretchy singlet and pull that down if that makes sense.

I would not have been able to easily bf without either.

I felt more exposed. If you have a top that is loose-fitting, you can pull your shirt up and your baby will cover your bare belly and your t-shirt will cover your shoulders and as much of your breast as you want. So personally I wouldn't go off buying loads of shirts, I simply didn't need them. Of course, it's up to you.
