Make it a big deal, talk about it lots, send all the bottles away so that it's just not an option.

    Author: NikkiB
Subject: 35013
Posted: 01 August 2010 at 8:40am

I don't know if this will help, but to get my DS1 off his night bottle, I started giving him his bottle earlier and earlier at night, so he was having more and more awake time after his bottle, before going to sleep. It got to a stage when he totally forgot about a night bottle. Once in a blue moon, he'll ask for a bottle and I just say to him he doesn't have a bottle now, that he just had a book read to him - he seems pretty happy with that.

And when DS1 stopped having a day sleep, that bottle also got dropped.

Hope this helps. I found it a very stress free approach

I try to take it away but as i still have a little one on a bottle im finding it hard. Ive tried telling him that only babies have bottles and that he is a big boy and has his cup but he says he is a baby and needs a bottle. Im a little lost on what to do as he requires up to 3 bottles to go to sleep at night and frankley im shattered by the time he is down. His brother who is 21 months has one bottle and is out like a light. I need help badly im am wanting to settle down in a more suitable routine.
