Sorry, I haven't read all the replies, but after about 8 days of baby waking up crying constantly (although he seemed fine during the day) I took him to the Dr to check nothing was wrong, and it turns out he has glue ear.

Well she's awake after being in bed for ONE HOUR!! This is so frustrating. I get NO time to myself. Alot of us Jan mummies are too, so after reading that Nov/Dec are too, surely it must be either teeth or developmental if we have all ticked the other suggestions off the list.

Cooper was worse again last night and kept waking and crying out even when in bed with me, ended up with him sleeping on my chest (anyone else need a massage after sleeping in awkward positions because of their baby). So I took him to the doc today and he's got a sore throat. So we're trying pamol tonight to see if that helps.

Hi Deb, same problem here Sunday night was the worst we've had since she was born I think. Kept waking up screaming. I would give her a cuddle and she would go back to sleep, but just as I was nodding off she would wake again. Luckily we got about 4 hours straight at one point.
She usually wakes around 2-3 times a night, but cries then goes back to sleep, so even though I don't have to get up, it still wakes me up and can take up to an hour for me to get back to sleep.

Pamol seems to work for us, but I try to avoid using it too much.

Hopefully it's not too long before she's sleeping through again. DS got better at night when I gave him Nurofen for children - it lasts 8hrs and I'm positive it's his teeth. Same here as you know. We are struggling too, and yes, he spent about 2 hours in his cot last night - climbed into bed with me at 8.45pm! I am too tired to deal with it and hopefully (maybe during summer) I can get him sleeping better. Unfortunately it looks like i'm just gonna have to wait for her to grow out of it. Whenever that will be! She only slept for 2 hours in her cot last night. When she woke up i just took her to bed. I was too cold and tired to muck around getting her back into her cot. lol.

Same here! I feel your pain! it's horrible!
no clues as to why it's happening just .

Ds2 still feeds 3 -4 times a night which i'm trying to cut down but hes' got a cold now so not yet!

Us Dec mums are going through the same thing Deb. Its very frustrating. I have no idea what it is for mine cos as soon as i get him up hes all smiles and playing etc.

Its hit and miss if hes gonna go down for the night without a fight. some nights he goes down without a peep other nights its major dramas and takes hours.

Last night he went down super well and then woke about 40mins later and then wouldnt go back to sleep. ended up giving him nurofen, but then he still didnt go back down til 11pm..........

Im thinking developmental, cos ive crossed off all the other things on the list of what it could be........

We're going through the same thing Deb. Two teeth popped through a week or so ago and then we went back to one wake up and I went yipee!!! Then the last few nights we were back to half hourly wakeups . He spends a lot of nights with us, even then the last two nights he kept waking and screaming out and then morning is 5.45am.

We have the same problem - DS used to sleep through from 5 weeks then at 5 months he woke up up to 8 times in the night. It isn't every night though luckily and just when I think the phase is over, he throws me a curveball and does it again!

The Sleepstore have 2 great articles. Only problem is for us, it isn't hunger, dummy, hot/cold, he can self settle, we have him in a safe t sleep with sleeping bag, so the only thing left for us is teething or perhaps the fact that he is going through developmental changes (the lovely ladies in jan 10 have found some info on it). I know how you feel, can be frustrating & tiring!

She used to sleep 8-9 hours then another 2-3 but a few months ago she suddenly started waking HEAPS. I end up putting her in bed with me 'cause she just keeps waking up after i get her back to sleep in her cot.
