I want to look at this for my son soon but I am so scared to have things happen that i dont see...... its the one thing about in home that scares me. People can fool me easily into thinking they are awesome. but since they are alone with the kids they can do what ever they like.........and just tell you a different story. No one else there to pull them up on things

But i also think hes too young for a daycare centre

I'm with Porse in Hamilton, I find the support to be really good (I have an awesome visiting tutor) and they organise excursions and stuff, BUT I am waiting for children!!! Both my kids have come through porse, clients contact the office and are matched with people in suitable area's. My mums a banados caregiver and ill be doing it at the start of next year to. Its quite good. Expecially if you want to be home for your kids.

I have 2 extra kids through porse, it's great. I don't have a big enough car for 3 tethered seats in the back, both families know this and are happy for us to go to local playgroups and parks that we can walk to rather than the porse ones that are 15 mins drive away. I would NEVER make the kids walk next to the pram though, the 2 heavier ones are in the pram and DD (who's only 1/2 a kg lighter!) goes in the backpack. We look a right sight walking around, but it gets us from A to B! I'm saving now for a bigger car that will fit 3 seats so we can do more things, hopefully have enough by the end of the year.

I don't think cars are a prerequisite. A had a caregiver that didn't she did though walk them miles so I was glad to have her out of her care. She made the kids walk next to the pram rather than in it!

I have a friend who has worked for Porse and said they weren't very nice to work for. She now works for Home Grown kids and loves it. Yea, you do need a car big enough to transport your kids plus kids in your care. oh Sabrina - we had our DD through Porse. Although I wouldn't recommend our caregiver as things changed in her life and her focus obviously changed so she stopped doing things with the kids like she promised. But all I will say is that if you say you will do something with the kids don't go back on your word or maybe you should talk with the parents that you can't take kids to library etc anymore.
