I'm a red wine drinker these days however, Triple Bank Pinot Gris is by far my favourite white wine and my absolute favourite.

My fave red wine is Nikau Point Cabernet Merlot

Shingle Peak Pinot Gris is nommy (and it's really cheap this week but I can't tell you where cos it might be breaking forum rules ).

I always feel really bad buying wine when I'm obviously PG. My cellar is nicely expanding though. Brown Brothers Moscato for a sweet wine or their Merlot

Soljans Fusion for a sweet bubbly (LOVE the stuff!!)

I know that anything that uses the muscat grape is quite sweet which I like but a lot of people don't

Natarawa Stables I love, with the Sav or the Chard.

Mudhouse is yum, and so is Villa Maria.

I use to work with Wino's infact their number plate is WINOS, so I learnt alot from him!!!

When I go out I usually drink the house wine.

Been off the turps for a while and won't be back on for some time either.

I'm a sav / resiling drinker for white wines
for Reds I prefer a shiraz/syrah or a merlot.. Too many tannins in cab sav for me.

I rarely spend over $15 a bottle, there are some great wines between $10-15.

Fav bubbles is still Morten Estate, although Lindauer isn't bad for the price.

Church Road or Oyster Bay sav. Also I did try some Daniel Schuster sav before getting pg with Lily (he's DH's chess clubs patron and arrived with cases of wine lol) and it was lovely! he goes a good pinot as well I hear.

For spicy reds your looking at a Syrah or Shiraz Stonecroft or Bilancia which are abit pricey or Yalumba if you can get your hands on it think Barossa Valley in Australia, they generally do some good ones.

villa maria sav for me when at home. Not fussy when I am out but generally drink savs and pinot gris.

As for red I normally do a merlot or a cab blend. Wolfblass is one that is coming to mind.

My all time favourite is Allan Scott Reisling. Their Sav is nice too.

We drink lots of Cloudy Bay here as well coz it's easy to get and nice.

Mmm wine!! I like the Selaks ice wine - my fav desert wine.

I also love Pinot Gris forgot the maker of the one I really like but I think they're from up Gisbourne way . Don't mind red wines.

Hate the bubbly/sparkly kind of wines - yuck.

Don't mind Sav's but yeah the first 2 I prefer.

ETA: My gran loves the cheap Riccadona (sp?) wine forgot the type - sure it'll come to me, it's not too bad.

I'm a red girl, my fav is a Syrah, but I can't remember the name of it, so no help to you

Otherwise, I can't go past a yummy Pinot Noir - Mt Difficulty do a yummy one, also Rabbit Ranch do a really good cheap one.

 

If I have a white I'll go for a Pinot Gris, mmmmm

 

ETA - DH told me to add Martinborough Vineyards Pinot Noir too

St Clair Sauvignon
Allan Scott Sauvignon
Spy Valley Sauvignon

If you ever wanted to splurge and can get your hands on a St Clair Special Reserve or Pioneer Block I would definately go for it.

I like Huntaway Reserve chard but hardly ever have it. I've got some Saints chard and The Ned pinot gris tucked away and will stock up on more when it's cheap. I do my buttery chards.

ummm I'm a pinot gris drinker but The Ned wines are good across most of their varietals, both DP and I have worked with them.

Kim Crawford reserve is good.

It all depends on flavours that you want. The Sleeping Giant Chards are good although a little bit more pricey, nice big bold buttery.
