I definitely say a bottle of water for you and something to eat like misscheeky said as breastfeeding makes you so thirsty! Spare plastic bags for poo explosions

I've always carried just the very basics, and never been caught out by explosions of any kind.  Some of my coffee group mums lugged around huge sports bags and I wondered what was in them.

In addition to some of what the others say I also have some disposable bibs just in case I forget Ben's, arnica cream and spray, small sunscreen (left over from summer), I use cloth but I usually have an emergency disposable tucked there as well.

A wet bag or plastic bags to pop dirty/wet clothes etc in and to carry any nappies home if you are visiting.

I use my wet bag all the time.

1 spare set of clothes
2 spare bibs

2 bottles.

I also keep the rain cover for the pram and a spare blanket in the basket under the pram.

You have all the essentials! In time, you will be adding containers of solids, bibs and toys. Or maybe you'll add bottles of formula etc. But for now - that's just fine. As someone suggested, an extra wrap, a blanket and I would add a muslin cloth would be helpful (for spills).

bag for 2 kids:

2 of each size nappy depeding on how long we are going out for.
wipes
cloth flat nappy (reflux pukey baby)
bum cream just in case
1 change of clothes for the baby only

and thats it. ive hardly ever been caught out and cant be bothered taking a mammoth bag if im not going out for only a few hours.

if we are going for a whole day i normally have another change of clothes for both kids in the car. as well and spare nappies and spill clothes.

things that live in the car: spare bottle and formula, portacot, spare blanket

That to me sounds pretty good MC.  What about a blanket or wrap incase you are out and about and he needs to sleep or some extra warmth??

Nappy bag? DS is 11 days old, and I'm not 100% sure on what I should carry, "just in case"

So far I have about 2-3 changes of clothes for him, and a spare hat..
A flat cloth nappy (or 2) for spills (or a facecloth, whatever I grab)
A pile of nappies (how many depending on how long we're going out for)
Wipes.
A small bottle of baby wash and baby lotion, incase we are away at my parents/IL's and he needs a bath.
