It's not a brussel sprout, the leaves are a completely different shape to the ones on my brusself sprout plant.
i didn't know that about the soil deficency thing, it coud be that because the ground in that particular part is basically gravel, i'm not even sure how anything started growing there.

I second the maybe it's a slow-growing broccoli & cauliflower, or another possibility is brussel sprouts- they'll form little balls under each leaf- if it is, fresh brussel sprouts taste nothing like the chewy old supermarket ones. Or if the soil is nutrient deficient brassicas will grow but not flower, ie no edible bit.

i had that thought as well but the stems aren't really as thick as the stems on my broccoli plants.

Could they be broccoli that hasn't developed the heads yet? I was in the garden today and found these big plants that look like brassicas, smell like cabbagey broccoli but are just leaves.
At first i thought it might be kale but then i looked up images of kale on google and all the leaves in the pictures are quite curly whereas the ones in my garden are kind of wavy, like broccoli leaves, but definitely not curly.

Can anyone help me identify my mystery plant??
