Hehe my son is not a wee thing at all and is still in his capsule. Our capsule is a Graco Logico and goes to 12 months (13kg and 81cm). He is starting to get a little wide in the shoulders for it but our Radian arrived yesterday (although I haven't installed it yet). He could have gone longer in the capsule though. Yes, I know. He's not really wee, but his head is still below the level, although not now by a huge amount. Thanks SO much for the info here. DS is 10.5 months and looks as though he will just make it to 12 months in his capsule. We just bought a maxi rider II in the Farmers sale, which is forward facing only. I really wish I'd seen this thread earlier! Don't feel bad skp - been there, done that! I think it's a phase they often go through about that stage. We FFed Dan at about 13 months, then turned him back at about 16 months, till just recently (reached the weight limit for RF). He was quite happy with going back to being RF which I was quite surprised about. Lots of books, toys, food etc might all help, also keep an eye on the sun angle as it seems to become more problematic as they get taller. The mirror might be a good idea too.

if your car has LATCH (i thnk they are in most new cars from 2002?) then you can use that to secure the carseat instead of using the seatbelt.

I am getting one and cant wait to get one. I turned ours around about a month ago, wished I didnt have too really but without buying another carseat I had no choice. Bonus of having a little girl, she has just gone 2 and is now 11.5kgs

mmm I so want to keep her rear facing, but she literally screams and cries after about 10min in the car, she will hardly ever go to sleep in the car unless really tired. DD is 11 and a half months, is it safe to turn her around yet? she is about 10kg and driving me crazy crying cause she can see us in the car!
