Thanks for the advice. We're off to the docs tomorrow to get ears checked. He is much happier, feeding again and I'm hoping after a week on 15ml of anitbiotics a day, the ear infection will be gone.

I'll take the bottle and feed on descent and I'm also going to load him up on nurofen and pamol.

I have flown with a child with an ear infection. It was a nightmare and we found out about the ear infection afterwards. Nothing like being 10000 feet in the air with no where to go and a screaming toddler. Spent 3 hours in the toilet to try and keep the baby quiet. If there is any chance that the ear infection is still there be prepared for a rough flight. I would delay personally.

However I would say that he should be on the mend by next monday though. I second dosing on the ibuprofen and pamol just incase. Are you BF or bottle. If BF be prepared to be a human pacifier. Just keep him on as much as possible during assent and descent. If bottle take extras. The descent will be the worse so keep one for that. My daughters was undiagnosed so no AB's yet etc. So our flight was when the ear infection was at its worst. IYGWIM.

It's hard to say how long it takes for an ear infection to clear up. I have flown myself with an ear infection and it was very painful. More painful for babies because their tubes are tinier. The only thing you can do is get him checked at the latest time possible that you can cancel your flights to see if he is better, and if it's better, I would definitely dose him up on pamol and ibuprofen for children (both) to cover the flight.

If it's not better, it's just not worth putting him through it because it really could be very sore. He is probably going to be okay. Each day he will be getting better. Okay, so DS 10 months has been crook and has bronchitis, tonsilitis, croup and now an ear infection. He's been on antibiotics since Weds and they were boosted yesterday. He seems much happier in himself however, the dr yesterday mentioned he might not be okay to fly. We go away next Monday and I'm panicking now that we'll have to cancel. We'll go to the docs on Weds, but just for my own piece of mind, should it be cleaned up by then???
