So 3 1/2 hours is too long for him to last. Also, they get thirsty just like us, so sometimes top ups are a must. (just like breastfed babies) - but not water, I never offered just water alone until after 3 months.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by Sheza</span>]]>

It may be worth feeding him more often instead?  The girls were on 3 hourly feeds for about 4 1/2 weeks (formula/EBM mix) and then it went to 4 hourly.]]>

I also wouldn't be offering water to a 2 week old baby. I would just keep increasing his volumes as and when he needs as you will find it will plateau eventually anyway.<br /><br />Have you spoken to your Mw about his feeding? I always make 50ml over what DS drinks as sometimes he might have an extra 20 or 30ml if he's extra hungry.  When he starts consistently eating 30mls more I will up it another 50ml.]]>

Since then he has started to need a top up of 50mls before an hour after each feed, sometimes he goes to 4 hours between feeds but mostly 3 and a  half hours. We have put him on the Nurture formula for Hungry babies now and it still dosnt seem to satisfy him, he's still drinking 100mls every 3 and a half hours and then a top up of 50mls about 45 mins after each feed, apart from at night. <br /><br />Has anyone experienced this before and what did you do ? ]]>
