DS1 was 20 months when DS2 arrived. I went into hospital in labour after DS1 had gone to bed at about 6.30pm and we were home by 5am the next morning so DS2 was already in the house before DS1 woke up

He has never been an issue, we also did the present thing but may as well not bothered as he didn't get that it was from the "bubba". He is also really good at getting me things that I need when I am feeding DS2 and can't get up - but he is also at daycare so apart from the first 3 weeks which were over Christmas and I had DH home anyway - his life has pretty much carried on as normal.

We have had more "Mama do" comments to things but he is generally happy for his father to do it instead

I was holding #2 when #1 came in and he was unfazed by it.

I really think it depends on your child. We had no regression or anything. #1 could reach all his toys and books and always has a water bottle laying round so no issues there. Occassionaly his behaviour was crappy while feeding but I just stopped and disciplined him and went back to feeding.

I wish!

Umm we got him a pressie from the baby and just the things you've said. He can sit next to me and read and do his shape sorter or puzzles and things like that. We bought him some mainly music dvds we can sing and move to together during feeds (20 mins long so perfect!).

tbh he is going to find it hard, that's the reality. My baby is now 6 weeks and the toddler has been better for about 2 weeks. He just seems to get it now that i have to do this, and maybe has limited memory of what it used to be like before. I make effort to go out in the morning so he gets his run around and play and then the day usually goes quite well. Don't let him get away with naughty behaviour just because the baby is here. I've seen friends do that cos they felt bad and that just leads to more problems.
