He is now 11 months old and I still wrap him from the waist down for his day sleeps. I find it works a treat as it is just enough of a deterence to stop him from standing up before drifting off to sleep but he is able to get out of it once he wakes up, so can 'play' in his cot once he wakes.

We tried all the gentle techniques but none of them worked. So we tried the going in every 10mins thing... which also didn't work, she just got more worked up every time she saw one of us. In the end the ONLY thing that worked (once we'd tried everything else for long enough that we knew that she knew she needed to lie down to be able to sleep) was simply saying goodnight once we'd put her to bed, walking out of the room and leaving her to it. Felt horrible, especially when she kicked up a fuss for the first little while. (Sometimes for an hour or more) but she eventually got the idea.

Granted, we'd find her in some crazy positions for a while there! I always checked on her when we went to bed and moved her at least enough so I could cover her up. For the first little while I was scared she'd stir, and once or twice she did wake, but I kept doing it and even now she doesn't even stir if I have to move her when I check on her.

Oh yeah - couldn't say exactly, but it lasted a month or so with Bethany I think, cuz that's how long it took us to exhaust all options and find the one that worked :P

Hugs hun, hang in there - I promise it won't last forever!! x

Edited by kmarie
