Thanks guys.  I rang health line and the 0800 number on the back of the formula tin.  At the moment we are going with very bland boring food...potato, bread, banana, rice pasta etc just to firm things up a bit to give his poor bum some relief! Yesterday he did 7 so not quite so bad.  We are also going to try him on a low loctose formula for a week so see if that makes a difference.  Goats milk contains lactose too so if the new formula doesnt help our next step will be soy.

They told me that babies can get secondary lactose intolerance after having another infection.  It normally lasts a month or so, so hoping thats all it is.

goats milk is cheaper than soy milk too. i was soy from 6 weeks and still am and if i drunk as much milo and tea as i wanted id be broke. 2.75 a litre and i can easily drink 2L a day...

My friend has just switched her daughter over to goats milk, her daughter is 15months old and she has had poo issues on and off. the latest being her pooing about 15 times a day too and her poos burning the cr*p out of her little bottom. since she went to goats milk shes been fine

Not sure whether you are feeding cow's milk etc, but Brooke is the same age and we've noticed a bit of a busy bum lately (5 times yesterday!), and she has nappy rash.  My coffee group mums say their babies are the same.

I'm wondering if the milk supply is a bit rich at the moment?  Cows produce richer milk at certain times.

Hi Sarah, yeah 15 pooey nappies definitely doesn't sound normal to me!! Chelsea only goes thru about 4 nappies a day, and only one poo a day!
I think you need a 2nd opinion...

I'd call the specialist.. it has to be related to his other issues.

You know that I don't particularly like your doctor so I think perhaps you need to get some fresh ideas from someone else.. ask around for recommendations for someone in your area.

There must be other tests that they can do.

15 is ALOT of pooey nappies.. Floyd has had runny bum as I call it on and off for the last month, it stops for a day or two then comes back.  We have sent 3 different samples off to the lab that have all come back clear.

As he has an underlying immune problem I keep going backwards and forwards to the Dr, he however doesnt think anything is wrong.  He said that Floyd seems happy enough, hes eating and drinking, his bum isnt to red (Ive been putting cream on it non stop)  He just keeps saying its a virus yet no one else has caught it which to me seems a bit strange (we went to coffee group last week as he had a 'good' couple of days, plus there were other children at his birthday party)

Surely 15 poos in one day isnt normal!!  Would you take him to another Dr or ring Starship to see if I can speak to the haematologist we have been seeing (we go back on the 13th)

Sorry for the rant just soooooo over changing nappies
