The scenario of fighting sleep, grizzling/crying, then falling alseep in your arms in very familiar to me.
Try a sling And personally I'd say avoid formula, but that is a personal choice. Just remember that it doesn't always help sleep or anything really.

Mac went through a stage like this and then not long after, his sleeping got much better.
All I did was have him in a sling with me and also took him to an Osteopath

Sleep promotes sleep. It might take a day or so of letting him sleep in a sling with you to catch up so he actually CAN go to sleep on his own.
I've been told that once they get overtired, their brains don't shut off properly which is why they wake after 20 mins. Not sure of the truth behind it, but it fits in theory.

I'm normally really tolerant and takes a lot to upset me but Liam is wanting next to no sleep during the day.. sleeps 6-7 hours then two lots of three at night but id settle for less night sleep and more in the day:( as i said last time i do the same things..except he has playtime in daytime... I seriously suspect doc may have been right that the Ab's unsettle them?he constantly settles then wakes or falls asleep being rocked or whatever then wakes.when he never used to..even the trusty bouncer only works at night.. tried gripe water etc..which made him choke but it did seem to work(gave it on teaspoon) tried infacol and that didnt work) to make sure it wasnt wind.. currently he's been up since 8am with one 20min sleep..

any suggestions:(

(im on Ab's for mastitis for another day ... ) for the first few hours he's happy as when up but then gets grumpy and unsettled....i dont get why he is fighting sleep so much:( now he is about to start crying in the bouncer but if i pick him up he will go to sleep..

mostly though and esp at night he self settles.. I'm at a loss to know how to get him to sleep:( he wont take a dummy either:( do i need to try formula to help him sleep?
