I used to spend way too much time on the net - mainly OB & FB. I banned myself from these 2 websites for a week (made it to 6 days lol) and I was really embarrassed by how much time I had to do things like spending time with the kids, DH, housework etc.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one and I did not use the net at all while in hospital after giving birth to DD and I was there for a few days. Most of my friends live overseas so FB is my way of staying in contact and then I don't know where I would be without OB!

yes i definatly think im addicted , as soon as i had Amelia and after i had my skin to skin time with her (when mum wanted to hold baby ) i was on my mobile updating my FB status saying id had the baby , then as soon as i transferred hospitals i was on my phone again updating my OB . lol i would have been so bored in the hospital without it . thats terrible !!! lol .

I think because internet is so readily available...and endless in what you can acomplish on there...makes it so enticing! lolz. And DP and I are like info tech junkies. We have the desk top, laptop (which my dad got me for tech), Wii...which can hook into the net, 2 blackberry type phones that connect wireless to the net...and an ipod touch that connect wireless as well. Definitely need to cut down on un course related browsing. I do too I got DH to bring FIL or SIL's laptop in to the hospital when I was there (although, to put it into context, I was in there for 4 1/2 weeks....). I am generally online when the girls are asleep, or happily playing, or while I'm having my breakfast. Doesn't help that all of my study is online based too...and then I get sidetracked. I have cut down a lot on my net usage lately though, just from being too busy or not home. My excuse is that FB and email are how I keep in touch with everyone back home. They wouldn't see Callum unless I put photos up every month.

And although he gives me **** about it, DH expects me to check my emails at least every 30 mins or so .... judging by the "oh but I emailed you already" comments I get ALL the time if I call him at work

I use the computer (FB, OB and a few other sites) as "me time" - often late at night when DH and DD are sleeping, and also during the day when DD is napping and I've got my work done. 

Been uploading all of Brooke's photos lately - have got way behind.  I like to back them up online.  So this is my excuse for surfing the net - the uploading is going in the background.

I have the internet going all day. Mainly emails, FB, OB, ebay etc. But thats also 10 minutes here and 1 hour there.

In our defence.......if we didnt have our Internet time we would no doubt be non stop cooking or cleaning or running errands and doing stuff for everyone else but me...........we are actually allowed time out to sit and do something just for ourselves and if thats being on here then surely we should be allowed to allow ourselves this???

Well, you are certainly not alone! I am online so much I have been accused of ALWAYS being on Facebook. However I maintain it just appears that way.

I am a graphic Designer so a lot of my work (which I do from home) is sitting at the computer and OB & FB prove to be a great distraction.

That and I am breastfeeding twins and my computer is right in front of where I feed them so it really does seem like I am always here. I spend about an hour in the morning once the kids have gone to school and DS is having breakfast and/or watching some TV.

When he is in bed, I can spend anywhere from 30mins+ on the net... usually I tend to take advantage of the two hours and watch my programmes that I've recorded.

Definitely not the only one. I do alot of course work online since half of the content is online learning..so I spend a great deal online. Also check emails, facebook, and ohbaby regularly. I'm on and off a lot during the day.. Will often walk past and shove the mouse to see if anything pops up... Our computer runs through the tv though so if I'm watching TV then I'm not on at all.

I spend my day pottering, doing various things, so hop on and off in between. How much time during the day do you spend on the net? and how much is too much?

I am starting to think I spend too much time on the net. Its not normally for long lengths of time but more lots of short periods of time (10 minutes here 1/2 hour there) which in turn add up and also there are so many things I could be doing instead, like housework YUCK! I really on go to FB and OB and then read the news on the Herald or Stuff sites.

I am going to monitor the time I spend on here over the next few days and see how much it adds up to, I think I will be shocked at how much time it actually adds up to, and what I could be doing with that time!
