I just assumed he wouldn't as he pretty much filled it length wise when we went to Oz in Dec (age 4-5 months)....might try and find out the length of them.

Sorry Bellerara - hijacked your thread a bit!!

They didn't even want to see any of it! I did have all the medicines/toiletries in the obligatory plastic bag but bottled water for bottles and baby food was still in the baby bag, they weren't even interested.

Callum fit in the bassinet JUST at 10m when we came home to NZ (Singapore airlines though, all the bassinets are different sizes) but we're going to Aussie in June which will be .... interesting He's nearly 13kg now and definitely won't fit in the bassinet. I think we'll just have to hope we get an empty seat next to us.

I would take more food and nappies than you think you'll need A change of clothes for yourself and maybe one favourite toy and book. Don't forget a dummy clip if your DD takes a dummy

However I found I slept better on that fourth flight when Eimear was asleep on me as the bassinets were quite high up and my girls are climbers!

Thankfully I had the one who loves sleep. DH had Aoife and he had to settle her every hour or so during that night flight. So a blanket over Aoife would have made a big difference I think.

Do you use a dummy? We found them to be invaluable for settling them to sleep.
I'm not sure how this trip will go as dummies are gone but as least now they are old enough to understand what's happening.

The only time we had to taste anything was leaving Auckland and they asked us to taste the Pamol.

Just take minimal stuff, a few books and some favourite toys. My 2 spent most of their time walking up and down the aisle and playing peekaboo with the people in the seats behind.

Their surroundings should be enough of a distraction, seriously it's amazing how fascinated a baby can get with a seat belt

Also I would take a blanket to put over baby while she is sleeping to help keep out distractions.

The airline may provide a baby meal so I would check with them what is on the tray to see if it is suitable. I am well experienced in long flights having been to the UK and back (on my own!!!) with Sam!! And doing it all again in a few months! Hope it goes well.

Trying to find ways to cope with the 9hr flight, she is quite full on (reasonably easy to distract though), I am still BF so hoping that helps. Any tips please? She will also take a bottle so I will buy a couple of S26 tetrapak formulas just in case she is too distracted to BF properly. Anyone know what snacks you are allowed on the flight?
