Its soo horrible isnt it. In the end i just gave DS whatever he wanted to eat, he seemed happy with baby custard, and bananas... not sure how that would help the bowles, but we went till about day 12 or 13 before we stopped having number 3's.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19433">monikah</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 32307<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 16 March 2010 at 10:00pm<br /><br />thanks mel, i ran to the super market and got a lactose intollerant formula. i figure it is worth a try and surely it cant do too much harm by swapping for a couple days. if he is getting better ill keep him on it a week and go back to normal to see what happens. now i just have to figure out what to feed him, at the moment he is still on cruskets for lunch and muesli for breakfast cos im too scared to give him anything else and he doesnt have his appetite back yet so he doent care much. i wonder if plain old jar food will be ok? as much as him being better is more importnat than uni, if i dont go back soon i dont think ill be catching up :S]]>

Jake had a teeny virus at 3 months and he is STILL lactose intolerant! Soy or a Lactose free formula might be worth a shot (unfortunately they dont do sample sizes grrr)...<br /><br />Hugs hun, but yeah he is on the mend finally!]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19433">monikah</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 32307<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 16 March 2010 at 8:58pm<br /><br />right so after a long week or syringe feeding fluids, 41 degree temps, severe diarrhoea, not eating, dry nappies, trips to emergency and so on, my baby is finally looking better. he has been on the books as an at home patient until sunday where they were happy he was in no danger and would be fine with regular pamol and fluids. we are now up to day 10, we have no fevers, vomitting, nappies are now wet etc.. but he still has the diarrhoea. we have just started him on food again and he started taking milk again a few days ago, he wakes up during the day and aside from having cabin fever and being a bit grumpy he seems almost fine.<br /><br />what should i feed and not feed him in order to help control the diarrhoea? also is it worth swapping him to soy formula for a few days in case he is one of the kids that developes a temporary lactase intolerance that comes with prolonged diarrhoea? any advice would be great, his bum is raw, he still has a sore tummy and he is going mad being stuck inside the house all day. any advice would be great]]>
