I've known mums who stated at 4mths.
A bit of a personal choice I guess. And much like everything else I guess some babies really are ready sooner than others.
Iron stores start to deplete from 6mths (emphasis in start, it's not like one day happy baby, next day anemic baby). It also has to do with a change in breast milk contents which on average happens at 6mths. Progress formula (6mths +) has extra iron.
As for meat, that's from about 6mths. Fish is OK, but not shellfish/crustaceans - they come later.
We held off until DS was 6 or 7 months as their digestive systems are not fully formed to process meat yet (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). Also their iron stores start depleting around 7 months

I gave her some carrot and courgette tonight which she loved. She ate all I gave which I thought was plenty and she was looking around for more. On occasions like this should I give her more? How do I know how much to give her? She does seem to grizzle when she has had enough. Can I over feed her on solids?
When can I start her on fish and meat?

Thanks for any feed back in advance!
