Was only diagnosed at 6 weeks and had a few months of agonising pain, bleeding and right out torture. I was given some cream and some other stuff but it felt like it made it worse. It was great for the associated pain but I felt like it made everything just thinner. Back to the DR and she will just give the same freaking stuff and that happened 3 times.

I did a lot of reading ect and then decided to just get off the stuff and try everything naturally. I wasnt constipated either. But found food too high in fibre can actually make me feel worse. Like apples.

TMI to follow: I found the tip of olive oil in a syringe just before you feel like going squirted in helped things and (you can use vaseline apparently as well) and after 2 weeks it felt like it was healing and I stopped and I got torn again but after that I continued for 6 weeks and it healed and no more problems.

Heidismum I hope your girl feels better real soon.

With the nu-lax everything was (ewwww TMI) liquidy so couldn't tear anything and the tears could start to fuse back together. If you've had them for awhile (took me awhile to figure out what was going on) I can only assume you get a bit of scarring so it takes even longer to heal.

Otherwise - I wonder if there is a numbing gel available. Surely something like that exists so that you could numb the area a few minutes before going?? Might be worth asking your doctor...

It's about $7.90 I think, from memory and is this really disturbing paste like stuff that you have to put in another container and you take 1.5tsp per day. But it tastes really yummy - like the inside of a fig bar.

I woke up the next morning absolutely busting LOL - and I continued to take it for about 3 months straight even when I thought things were healed to give everything a chance to knit back together. I still have some dramas but I am now free of the laxative and have almost zero pain. Just a warning to not stop it cold turkery cause TMI - you end up with a log the next day that destroys all your hard work!!

Oh, perhaps that kiwifruit frozen stuff - kiwi crush? that might help??

Sheza - bugger! I didn't realise you had these. I still struggle with mine but have pretty much gotten them heaps better by using this all natural fruit laxative for months on end to give things a chance to knit back together.
