I think we'll be having a farmyard theme, cos DH is off a dairy farm, and I'm a sheep girl, hehe.

And we've decided on 3 walls white/cream, and then we'll go one wall feature wall (goes with the rest of the house). But of course now we can't decide what colour we want for feature wall! I've been thinking about the nursery since before we were pregnant! We decided early on that we wanted a safari scene for either boy or girl, and always had an idea of using the cream walls and brown curtains that we have and mixing it up with a bit of green and yellow (my fave colours lately.) So when I saw this picture I knew it was the scheme I wanted to use as inspiration.

We wanted our nursery to be fairly neutral. We knew we were having a girl but figured if we paint it neutral, we wont need to change it if number 2 baby is a boy.
We chose Resene Eighth Malta, we liked it so much we've actually ended up painting the rest of the house in the same colour! Then to add colour, we just got some jungle themed wall transfers that are easily removable so we can change them once she gets a bit older.

Oooh some nice colours there, I'll have to show DH!

We are looking at doing 3 walls white, with one wall feature wall. Just cos it goes with the rest of the house sort of, and it means we can get white/cream paper out of the cheap bin

As it is, we are looking at $500-$700 to re-wallpaper one room, our bedrooms are HUGE! And have really high ceilings (it's a older house) so I think I only want one expensive wall!!!

I like all these colours, some nice ones I hadn't thought of, that can be easily swayed blue or pink!!

Do any of you guys have black-out curtains? We're putting a pretty buttery yellow wallpaper up in the baby's room (the walls are shot, it would take too much work to get them up to a paint standard). It's nice and light and sunny-feeling, and will be good for a boy or a girl. Hollie's room is a part napa, not sure whether its 1/2, 1/4 etc. Photos of that are on my fb.

Her old room in our rental was white, with a hunter green wall. It looked awesome against either pink stuff or blue stuff, without being to traditional baby, if you get my drift.

Of course this time around I'm aiming for traditional baby a little more. Go figure.

Hahaha... I always point that out when we go shopping. Actually I got really annoyed in Baby Factory the other day, they had some cute body suits but all the blue ones had "baby boy" written on them and all the pink ones were "baby girl", but the boy ones were rather gender neutral IYGWIM!!

We used Resene Double Pearl Lustre which is a neutral colour, but nice and warm. I found the resene neutrals chart really good and painted HEAPS of test patches before we decided.

We painted Daniels room orange which may sound gross but its actually really cool and in winter it makes the room so much warmer. It matches pretty much every colour as well.. we wanted something a bit different.


The colour isn't showing up quite as well cause of the settings on the camera but this is Daniels room

We're just going with an off white colour (creamish) (haven't actually chosen it yet) but we plan to spruce it up if you like with coloured curtains, etc.

We wallpapered the nursery a green colour, it's probably a little bit brighter than minik8e's. It's the smallest room of the house so will always be used for the smallest family member, lol. Our walls are papered with a light beige brown, we won't be changing them as the paper is fairly new, we'll change the curtains instead.
Will redecorate to the childs taste when they're around 5 and again when they're 12.

All the rooms in our house are painted 1/2 tea - On the wall of the kids room I have had their names made up on large mdf letters in pink and blue, I also have some winnie the pooh framed pictures on the walls and photoboards. It is neither girly or boyish - quite nuetral. It is the accents in the wall pictures and the furnishings that give it a 'child's room' feel.

Ours is painted Dulux "Devonport" which is a lime green/butter yellow depending on what light it's in...piccy below We chose the colour before we found out if they were boys or girls, and it worked well because we could change the "feel" with curtains etc (like we did!)

Sorry wasn't sure where to put this...

But what colour is your baby/toddlers/childs room?

We aren't going to find out what we are having, and will be re-wallpapering the room that will be the "nursery"
So far the other 3 bedrooms have been re-wallpapered white, one has a dark charcoal feature wall, one has a light brown/beigy colour wall, and the other one is plain white.

We can't decide what colour/s to re-wallpaper babys room! We want to keep it neutral (at the moment its wallpaper thats been painted a ugly baby blue-horrible colour!) but don't know how to mix it up to keep it from being plain white!!!
So no pink or blue! Greens, browns, yellows??? I don't know!!
