my first started with a show and then the contractions started about half an hour later and my mw ended up breaking my waters after about 25 hours, my second labour started with contractions and 6 and a half hours later she was born with the membranes still intact.

Yep, both of my labours started with my waters breaking.

With my second pregnancy my MW said my labour should start off with contractions. But she was wrong. lol. I was actually disappointed that my labour started the same way the second time because with my first baby, labour didn't progress so they had to induce me with the drip the following day and it turned out to be a horrible birth with complications.

It happened again the second time, labour didn't progress so had to be induced with the drip the following day. Way better birth though with no complications, and a much smaller baby. lol.

Both times I had waters breaking in the night then straight into contractions about 3 mins apart.

Both mine were pretty similar. The week before I had heaps of plug coming away and then both times I started getting mild cramps during the morning (both on a Friday too lol). Both kept increasing but second time round it was a lot faster. My waters broke when I was 10cm dilated and pushing!! With my first the waters were broken by the midwife in hospital when I was 6cm dilated, after about 12 hrs of labour.
Both labours I had no prior warning of things going to start soon in the days leading up to labour. Yes very different!
With Jack my waters broke in the early morning and then contractions slowly built from there. With Ben I was having contractions all afternoon but mistook them for BH . I didn't cotton on till I had a show late evening (didn't have one with Jack), waters broke a few hours later and it was all on, FAST!

My two labours couldn't have been more different. My first started with my (hind) waters breaking in the early morning, contractions not starting until lunchtime, not getting established until 2pm and then my DD1 wasn't born until about 13 hours after that.

With my DD2 I started getting these odd sensations of pressure in my pelvis that were quite different to what I remembered the early contractions being like last time, so much so that I didn't believe I was in labour until things were well established. All up it was just under two hours from woah to go, and my waters didn't break until DD2's head was being born. Completely different!!!

I so thought I'd have the same build up as my first labour but much to my surprise my waters broke first! & without much warning. This might be a dumb question but do second labours usually start the same way as the first?

My waters broke in the middle of the night with Ruby and so I have been convinced that this time it will all start with my waters breaking and then it will be off to the hospital etc.

My midwife said, well your waters might not break until later.
Noooooo! I have it planned how its going to work and it starts with the waters breaking

So any second (or more) timers please tell me how likely it is that it will start the same way.
