Is the Safety First one the same idea?

There is also the Radian - it RFs to 20kg, harnesses to 36kg FFing (the Brio Zento only FF to 18kg although it RF to 25kg).
Radian is cheaper also.

Another option is importing a seat from Sweden, which are legal to use here - ours friends have done this (as have we, but it is waiting in Europe for us). Theirs cost exactly the same as the Brio including shipping and guarantees their child will be RFing till she's 25kg - from what I've heard and read the Brio doesn't for all children.

The Safety First does not have the same Rfing benefits as the Brio/Radian - it only RFs to 16kg (which may actually see some kids RFing till they are 2-3 if they're small).. It then harnesses FFing to just over 22kg. Then you move to just using the car belt from over 18kg.
So it is designed to essentially (as I understand it) take the place of capsule/convertible and booster.

Very different from a Brio. Similar concept to a Radian though, although I'd pick a Radian over the Safety Ist because of the harnessing up to 36kg and higher RFing limit HTH

ETA The Radian is just making its way here - heres a thread on TNN with all the details Sunshine Kids Carseats TNN

Edited again to clarify

Edited by Mamma2N

It can rearface up to 25kg and is such a comfortable seat. I use the seat with the children I look after and have used it with a 4month old and a 21month old and they are both comfy and happy.
The only thing I will say is that it is a tall seat which is great for keeping baby in it longer but not so great if you are rearfacing and its sitting behind you. In saying that we drive a mazda familiar and it fits fine in there. Oh the other thing too is that it is very upright even when rearfacing so a baby really need to be able to sit before you use it even though the brand says you oculd use it from newborn baby on the move don't recommend it and I have to agree. My 4 month old was okay in the seat but if we'd been going a long journey then I would have prefered her to be a little more laid back until now (5month). Now she is plenty big enough for the seat.
eek sorry big blurb.

I like the convertible 3-in-1 idea which goes all the way up to booster. Just wondering what one people have been happy with. I'm leaning towards the Safety 1st one available from baby on the move - has anyone tried this and were they happy with it? I note most of the shops in my area predominantly sell safe n sound car seats rather than safety 1st. Ta.
