DH was saying leave her, so I said he could get up if she woke and give her a bottle (he's never got up to her so far) ... she woke at midnight, dh was crashed on the couch (the monitor was in with me so he didn't hear it!) so BF'd her and she slept til her normal time.

Note to self - if she doesn't drink, keep her up another 30mins and try again. Or go in and give her a late night feed if she won't take it. and don't trust DH!

Jake always still slept thru when sick or teething and off his food / milk.

I just don't get it. She wouldn't normally sleep unless she'd drunk at least half the bottle, even then she has woken 30mins later for a feed before settling for the night. She does have the odd day when dinners been a bit late and shes drunk less and been fine. But never that little, and dinner wasn't late. She has had two teeth come through this week ..... but if they were bothering her I would have throught she would be grumping and not wanting to go to sleep - and she ate well too.

Ah well, I'll go in and see if she'll feed, if not will hope for the best .....

If she isn't intertested then, just a change of nappy and back to bed. It was about this stage that we cut out a late night feed for Amelia.

Sometimes she wakes early and I go in and make sure she is wrapped up (she still likes to be swaddled), dummy in and then leave her to it. I refuse to feed her until about 7:45am (which is her normal breakfast time). Sometimes she goes back to sleep but she doesn't get fed until it's breakfast time.

All the best.

It is probably just going to be one abnormal bedtime and things could be back to normal tomorrow, if you do end up waking to her in the night, try swinging a nap tomorrow if you can (though I know that this can sometimes be nigh on impossible with two!).

    Author: Nikki
Subject: 31295
Posted: 31 January 2010 at 8:30pm

Morgan basically didnt drink any milk before bed and now I don't know if I should wake her, try to dream feed her, or just hope she still sleeps through??

She is BF'd during the day and has a bottle at night. She had dinner tonight at her normal time (about 5pm) and at just before 7pm we went to her room and I tried to give her the bottle as usual. She kept refusing and trying to sit up. I made sure she didnt need to burp, and then kept trying. After trying for quite some time I thought, bugger you, you can go to bed then .... thinking she would be crying within minutes and I could go back in and try again (she has done that a few times - usually when shes not quite tired enough or needs to burp or had a late dinner - but will drink and go to sleep when I go back).

So anyway - she didn't make any noise and is still asleep! after having about 20mls maybe I don't think she will sleep til at least 6am like normal - when she usually has a good 200mls!! She has never taken a dream feed, so I dont think that will work. What would you do? Wake her enough to have the bottle, attempt a dream feed, or leave her and hope for the best?!?

PS - I don't want to have to get up in the night!
