Make sure you find an Ostepath that specialises in children. They're a bit more expensive but they seem to be more successful in their treatments and more knowledgable.

I use Geraldine Bright at Waikato Osteopaths.

Lily was like this before she started walking. They were even turned out when she crawled! I didn't think much of it but my Mum kept going on about it so I mentioned it to my doctor and he said not to worry and that a specialist wouldn't even look at her until she was 2. Sure enough once she started walking they have become 'normal'. Interesting, it seems like you might have a point, yesterday and today we got home and playing in the garden but too spiky to crawl so I offered his hand and he would walk with me and was really steady and feet much straighter so maybe they will turn in as he gets ready to go it alone

My girls didn't take their first steps until 15 months and even then weren't really walking until about a month later. The both turn their feet in a bit when they walk but it seems to be getting less and less the older they get.

Hi FionaO, my wee boy is the same age as yours and also not walking. (He also crawled late-ish and, like you, we are not worried and are certain he will walk when he is good and ready).

Anyway when he first walked behind his block trolley his feet were also turned out, one really really noticeably - i would say 90 degrees. I read heaps about it and everything suggested it is normal and part of learning to balance. The books said that over time the feet will straighten up (in fact some will go the other way and become pigeon-toed for a while). And i must say that in the last few weeks as he has started to almost walk by himself, his feet have completely straightened up. So maybe just keep a wee eye on it and i'm sure they will straighten up as he gets more confident.

Hmm so after i posted that he was standing normally earlier but then they were turned out again, not as bad as 90 but quite turned out anyway.

90degrees is quite a bit isn't it? Can't be good for his wee knees. Hi,

DS isn't walking yet and this didn't worry me at all until the other day and I was talking to a lady who has a child the same age and she said she took her daughter to an osteo as she was standing funny and sure enough her hip was wrong or something and then that was it she was off.

DS hates to try and walk gets really cross and his feet are turned out at about 90 degrees when he is standing up, if he walks behind his trolley they stay really turned out, he will walk with us holding 1 hand but he gets really annoyed.
