This happened quite quickly from 5/6 a day. He has a feed over night usually around 4-5am.

He doesn't like water so drinks very little if any. I am not to worried about when I offer it. Usually after lunch some time and the sippy cup is just hanging around for him to get used to. He will get water in his mouth but I'm sure it all comes out again.

So in answer to your question, he is only bf 3 times during the day and he has very little water. It is very cold where we live though.

Corban would probably drink about 250-300mls of water a day. He can use his sippy cup independently so I just leave it where he can reach it and he helps himself throughout the day and then of course at meal times. I know plunket recommend giving water once you start solids but LLL say a Bf baby shouldn't need water as breastmilk will satisfy their thirst. Don't want to start a debate but was just interested to know how often mothers BF older bubs (6mths plus) if they don't drink water.
