Ummm...wouldn't science (and simple statistics) dictate that it is 50/50, given its tricky to know when someone OVs, some have less time after a period than others. Plus it depends on what your definition of planned is. My girl was in my view planned i.e. we started trying and took pot luck, but for others planned might be a bit mor... ummmm... structured than that.

Apparently there's a theory that girls are sometimes conceived a bit before OV as X sperm last longer than Y ones. But heck if you were planning You'd give it every chance you had. My brother thinks that healthy men have girls...te he...no prizes for guessing he has a daughter!

Our 'surprise' was a boy

Our second who we kinda planned, in that we were TTC, was also a boy. We weren't really bothered about gender but both hoped for a girl though we didn't 'plan' around trying to get one. In fact the day he was conceived I distinctly remember lying in bed and saying a silent prayer saying I didn't care WHAT we got as long as we got something; that was at Christmas and we got the BFP at the end of January. A friend mentioned to me the other day that she thought that unplanned pgs (or I suppose not particiallu TTC) resulted in baby girls and planned pgs resulted in boys - I assume that this is because you BD like rabbits before, after and during ov

. This obviously doesn't count if you are trying for a particular gender. I would be interested to know if that is how it worked out for others.
