If that is the only entry under that option you probally need to get a wireless card/adapter as it sounds like your computer doesn't have one included.
You might want to get a wireless card installed, or usb wireless adapters(external) are available.

Click on the start button, click "computer" on the right
Click on "system properties" along the top of the main box
Click on device manger on the left---(click on continue for any safety boxes that come up)
From the tree list, click on the + beside network adapters and type what it says

Or else just reply with the product/model number of the computer (you will find it on the side of the comp along with serials etc, where it has the product key sticker)

Sounds plausible... in the same place does it also have "manually connect to a wireless network"? Thanks Weegee. Ok so it is a PC not a laptop. I am running Vista. In "Connect To" it has a "Set up connection or network" option and then I get a "Set up a wireless router or access point" option. So I assume I am wireless capable???

What operating system are you running, so I can point you to the right place? It is a laptop? If it is there should be a little switch on the front or else if you look under the internet icon (sorry dont know what its called, im a mac girl!) it should have an option to search for wireless networks.

We got a wireless modem from Telecom, how can I tell if my pc (HP Pavilion, a few years old if it makes a difference) is wireless capable? The room where I want to put the computer doesn't have a telephone jack so I want to be able to put the modem in a different room.
