He's not talking as quickly as others because He's taking the time to listen and learn before saying it.

People HATE it when I say that to them (after saying 'Oh your son doesnt talk that much, does he?') bunch of smart bastards.
I think the longest thing Thomas says is a variation of 'out the way cat/dog/mummy' I know what he's saying, everyone else doesnt. Micah was the same Sheza, only saying a few words at 18 months.

Caden is 18 months and he doesnt say much at all, where as I know so many other 18 month olds saying all sorts!
Caden still babbles and says a few things, like bubba and dada and nana. DD was an early talker and then at 20mo she stopped.  Her vocabulary went down to about 5 words and she refused to say words that we knew she could. 

We had doctors and plunket etc telling us she needed her hearing checked but we were for the most part unconcerned and about 12 months later she turned into a wee chatterbox.

Now I just look back fondly on the days before she found her words (particularly the words "no" and "why")

My boys were both slow talkers....and had a cousin who was a very early talker. the comparisons drove me insane. Now, I have a five year old who won't shut up...
"what's that? who are you talking to? what are you doing? who's that man? What's that lady's name?"

Drives me insane. And taine has started to follow in his footsteps. he started talking quite late compared to others his age, but now rabbits on and on....he also sleep talks.

So, slow to talk doesn't mean much at all. I thought I would see if there is anyone else out there with a slow talker.

I have a 2 years 8 month boy, he is getting heaps better but has just really started putting sentences together etc and saying two sylable words etc.

I didnt start talking at all until I was three so I am really proud of Micah and find his talking SO SO cool, it really gives me a buzz everytime I hear him talk!!
