I have never heard of these either but wow what a great idea!

If I had a pool, I would definately have one!

Just did a google coz I think these a great idea and saw one on www.leisuretime.co.nz . Didn't see a cost but it has a warning on there about fake ones.

Im no help, but I had never heard of these! The ones that go in the pool and sense when an object over 8kg (like a child) falls into the water like the "Arlec Oool alarm"..... Where can you get them from?

There are a couple on TradeMe but none close by for pick up. I don't want one that uses the bracelet system (seems silly to me). I've searched google and looked at a whole lot of swimming pool websites but it seems as if there are not many (if any) places that stock them in NZ.

Has anyone used them? Did they work well or were they a bit sensitive?

Of course we will be watching the bubba all the time and he probably won't need it this summer but he has all the signs of developing the delightful "runner" tendency that I displayed when I was a baby/toddler/child (so much so that Mum could hardly turn her back to do something before I was gone...). So, this could be a second defence for next summer if someone has accidentally left the door open to the pool at my IL's place.
