Thanks for sharing your experience, and it was great to hear you have both had successful pregnancy's after the biopsy.

Buttons2 - because of my biopsy my cervix has folded in and also caused some scarring which actually left no real hole from the cervix into the uterus for the sperm to get in, they found this out when trying to place the embryos in at transfer stage. I've just had a laporscopy and cervical dilatation to create a 'gap'. I had a cone biopsy and LLETZ treatment in 2007 (age 23), and got pg 3 times afterwards (including 2 m/c). My specialist told me that the only impact it can have is that you may not dilate at all in labour, resulting in a c-section, or otherwise you will dilate very quickly. In my case I dilated quickly, which wasn't great because I had to have a c-section anyway because my leading twin was breech. They also kept an eye on my cervix throughout the pregnancy just in case it started dilating early, and needed a stitch put in. Otherwise, we haven't had any trouble getting pg, just keeping them, but that is due to low progesterone and possibly also my endo.

I had CIN3 cells. I am on yearly smears for the rest of my life, or until I turn 70, whichever comes first.

Hi Tanners - wow, can imagine that it's painful & not pleasant... hopefully worth it though for a BFP at the end. All FX'd for you
I don't have any experience with IVF, but I have had a cone biopsy (3mm tumour removed, luckily caught very early on through smear test) when 31yr & a natural pregnancy two years later.

I was worried in regards to pregnancy etc but my specialist said cone biopsy was all healed & no reason couldn't have a normal pregnancy & delivery. As it was I ended up having an emergency casesar as DD was 2 weeks overdue & got stuck   But supposedly shouldn't be any issue with the cone biopsy site.
In my case the cone biopsy & lymph node removal was a non invasive surgery method to retain fertility as I was young & had not had a family yet. (Alternate treatment if you've completed family is apparently hysterectomy as that removes all cells/risk). So in that sense it was successful

I've now had the all clear check up wise for 4 yrs & only have to have regular smears & specialist said fine to TTC #2. Hi ladies
There seems to be a few of us undergoing IVF treatment at the moment who have had a loop or cone biospy done years ago due to pre cancerous cells, so thought I would start a new thread here and hope to lure anyone with similar experience who has successfully conceived either through IVF or naturally after having something similar done.

I also need to have a 'mock transfer' (ie a practice run) and my cervix dilated before a transfer (sometimes also clamped to create a clear path for the catheter to pass through), trust me it is pretty painful and not very pleasant!!!

So would love to hear some BFP stories of anyone going through the same or perhaps your cliic does something 'special' to get more success.
