We gave our MW, who is also our GP, a Crabtree & Evelyn body wash and body lotion set in a lovely toilet bag with a pouff thing..

Ours was soooo lovely we got her a big basket of goodies from her home country (SA) lots of chocolates, jams etc was really chocka with little things. We got our mw a lovely scented candle in a vase thing which she loved. It was just our way of saying a big thank you for looking after me and our baby pre- & post-nataly

We actually asked our midwife what she wanted, and she asked for a picture of Natalie. So she got a framed picture of Natalie, and a bottle of wine! I think most midwives would love to get a picture of the baby they helped into the world. We got ours a gift for many of the same reasons as Peanut. She was amazing, totally went beyond the call of duty (had been up for 36 hours for another labour before driving back to hospital for DD's birth) and although our next bubba/s will be born in Italy we are hoping that she may want to pop over to deliver them! I have had this discussion with a couple of friends, Bel.

The first time I brought a gift because my MW was awesome and I desperately wanted her for #2 so figured there was no harm in a bit of greasing

we had 2, the one who i only seen postnataly got a bottle of wine and a thing of chocolate all wrapped up nicely. The other one got a basket of things ie, some homemade fudge, soap, candle, hand moisturiser

We gave our midwife an awesome scale sling (for weighing wee babes) made by the Designer Bums lady in a basket fill of edible goodies and a bottle of DH's wine. She was a star so I really wanted to do something nice for her.

I am having trouble trying to think of what to get my MW's as a thank you gift.. Yes, plural - I had 3 MW's take care of me..

With DD we just bought our MW a bunch of flowers..

This time was different as actual MW was away when DS born so had back up MW attend birth and then my actual MW's student midwife who was brilliant at the birth.
I really only want to spend about $100 all up..

Am stuck for ideas.. Should I get all 3 the same or slightly different because of their envolvements etc..?
