Our DD has gone through terrible reflux and on bad days will still do this with a bottle, apparently they want to feed cause it soothes the burning, but when the milk gets to the tummy it creates the burning so its like a vicious circle

Edited by skp

    Author: FionaS
Subject: 29688
Posted: 02 November 2009 at 9:45pm

Ashley is 12 weeks old. She is usually a wonderful, happy and calm feeder but for a couple of days she's been coming on and off, twisting, crying (hard pain cries) during feeds. She's been randomly having big pain cries between feeds too but as been generally fine, albeit wanting to sleep a lot. She seems really hungry and keeps signalling that she wants to eat but after a few sucks comes off, cries etc. The milk ends up going everywhere so we both end up in a mess :) Tonight it took me 6 attempts to complete her last feed...she wanted it but just kept coming off and crying.

Any idea what this could be?

I've read babies can be fussy during growth spurts and we haven't had the 12 week one yet but I seem to have a load of milk so am not sure she'll need to increase my supply anytime soon.

As far as I can tell she doesn't have thrush (she did have it and it didn't bother her).

I'm confused! She doesn't seem at all happy about whatever it is...
