Jake seems to have the bug in his intestine area which might explain why hes not throwing up. They're taking a sample to see whats going on exactly just coz its been so long.

it seems the poos have slowed down today. I got sick lastnight though, vomiting and diarrhea so it seems it is a bug. Also my mum and my brother have it as well (they saw henry on monday). Today he is eating a bit still but not much and its very wingy but i think he is getting better so thats good. Thanks for all the advice.
Interesting point about the toast. He keeps pointing to the bread (which he isnt normally fussed on) and thats pretty much what hes been eating, that and bananas because he loves the.

Theres really not much they can do. My two had an awful tummy bug not long ago it was all poop & spew but all they did was give us some of that electrolyte drink.

But I agree with everyone else it always pays to extra cautious. OMG we're in this situation! Jakes been having constant runny poos (first diarrhea then slightly thicker) since the beginning of last week! Hes totally happy, eating ok, drinking heaps of water and juice and playing like normal, no temp or anything but hes got a disgusting (and omg so smelly) nappy every couple of hours!! Hes now got a bum rash poor boy and he comes straight away to tell us he needs a nap change (or cries his head off at night) coz it hurts. We're heading to the doc today! Its just really weird coz otherwise hes perfectly normal

ETA hes got to be in nappies fulltime coz he has no chance of getting to the toilet on time which gets him super upset coz even in nappies hes trying to go toilet but its already come out IYKWIM its distressing to see him to distressed!!

The nurse rung back and said to keep going as i am pretty much except to offer him less food so that he drinks more and so that nothing upsets his stomach. She said if he is still bad at lunch tomorrow or if he starts acting unwell then to take him to see the dr. I would take him - thats an awful lot of diarhoea.
I think the last time DS had diarhoea the nurse said if he was going more than 8 times in a 12 hour period to bring him in.
He will probably be craving carbohydrates - try not to give him any milk as it makes it worse. I learnt that the hard way!

I think that if you are worried then it's best to see a Dr. You are not wasting their time, you are PAYING them to give you advice about the health of your child (even if "free", appointments are paid through your taxes).

Glad you will be talking to a nurse. i seem to be posting lots of questions today. THanks for answering.
I rung the dr asking if they thought that i needed to see the dr and the receptionist is getting the nurse to ring me back. I hope she rings back soon so that if we need to go we can still get an appointment, though they are pretty good at squeezing babies in (and me on occasion) if they think it is urgent. So will just wait for them to ring back.

Yeah it wouldn't hurt to go to the docs, that is a lot of nappies. It is good he is drinking as dehydration is the biggest worry when they are sick. The doc will check how dehydrated he is, worse case scenario he would need to go to hospital and have fluids via a drip, but that is not that likely. Ask the Dr about peadialyte, it has electrolytes and is better than just giving water, is about $1 on script.

My paed's advice was 10 dirty nappies in one day or 1 dirty nappy in 10 days meant take the child in.

Henry has had diarrhea since yesterday. I have gone through 30nappies in the last 24hours as he is going every 20-30mins sometimes more often. he also has only one pair of clean pants left He seems quite well otherwise and is drinking a small amount and eating a wee bit but not heaps, really wants bread for some reason. My question is do i take him to the dr? What can they do?
