hey - hope you all survived the freezing weather, and had a good weekend.

I've been using XMA ease since Friday and my arms have cleared up so well it's amazing. I went back to my old ointment yesterday for some reason and my eczema played up, using XMA ease today and so far so good.

My new fav product.

Newmum – get XMA Ease! I bought it yesterday and I have been smothering it all over my eyes ever since. It's all natural so no worries there. It stopped the itching and swelling immediately!

Hello
I've never had eczema before but in the last 2 weeks I have it around one of my eyes. Guess its just a random preg symptom for me
Do you guys know what I can use near my eye - as some of the creams say not to use on the face. I'm terrified of hurting the baby - as its our first.

OMG, I just went out an bought some XMA Ease and I think it's working!

Kirst – I've been using aqueous cream with 1% hydrocortisone since I was 8 and it's worked the best out of anything so far, but I'm trying to step away from non natural products. I had a really good day yesterday, though not sure what was different as to every other day as at the normal stuff.

I just rang DH as its flared up again, I told him the sprog is having a growth spurt lol.

I found this advice on everybody.co.nz

Itchy dry skin

Your skin has to stretch to accommodate your growing baby. In addition, hormonal changes in your body can make your skin drier and more sensitive. Eczema is a common cause of itchy, dry skin in pregnancy. In pregnancy, it may start or worsen due to changes in the way the immune system works.

    * Try having a shower instead of a bath and reduce the number of times you bathe.
    * Keep cool as much as possible, as overheating can aggravate the itching.
    * Substitute your soap or shower gel for a soap-free cleanser.
    * Wear soft, smooth clothes and avoid wool, which can irritate already itchy skin.
    * Use a moisturising lotion, cream or ointment to protect your skin.

I've gotta try this stuff, too. Found out the one I have isn't the same cream and my cream isn't working! I have eczema all over my mouth area, eyes, cheeks, neck, arms and hands. And it's getting worse! I woke up this morning and one of my eyes was swollen shut because I'd scratched it so much in my sleep. My lips are so raw I can't kiss DH and one hand is so dry and swollen, I can't stretch it out.

Has anyone found that a certain food trigger their eczema? I'm on a wheat free diet and I have reduced my dairy intake but it's still getting worse. you can keep it at bay if you can figure out what your triggers are.

Sadly mine are partly increased hormone levels - so every 1st and 3rd trimester throughout when I'm pregnant and every month for a day or so I have a flare up when I ovulate.

I had a low does hydrocortisone during my pg. Prescribed by my dermatologist. My mw was ok with me taking it... I only needed to use it a couple of days at a time. Just had to be far more diligent making sure my skin was well moisturised! I would have said no originally but my MW prescribed some for me with a low dose of hydrocortisone.

Hi ladies, I have very sensitive skin (can only use 3 types of washing powder, soaps etc) and from time to time get patches of excema on my face and/or body. I usually use hydrocortisone cream to treat this.

Over the last few days I have about 3 patches of excema on my chest area. Can anyone tell me if I can still use hydrocortisone cream while pregnant? Or suggest an alternative?
