Gabrielle was/is really spilly and was diagnosed with reflux at 13 weeks. I'm not sure if you are supposed to talk to your doc or MW about food thickner before you use it but I find it definately helps keep the majority of Gabrielle's feed in her stomach as she was still a major spiller even on reflux meds.

And yay for the weight gain too!

She was also a 4 hourly + feeder (unfortunately that has changed!!) who did 6 hours plus overnight right from the start, so got less milk in a day than most. She was still gaining though, just not rapidly. I know so many bubs that have taken two weeks or longer. And so many bubs who drink more or less than "required" .... but as long as they're happy and gaining they should be fine!

Needless to say my carpet has seen better days so Mr Rug Doctor will be coming for a visit in summer!

She's had 2 feeds of 100ml today which is a massive improvement - I changed to #2 teats (Avent) and it has made it a little better. I think he was nearly 6 weeks old before he got back to birth weight, he was extremely spilly and would projectile vomit out of his nose. Midwife told us it was normal, turns out he was allergic to dairy So yeah, just something to think about/ask about.

Kyle was heavier than his birth weight by day 6, so they are all different, I was still eating dairy as well even though he is also allergic to it, just doesn't seem to be as bad as Spencer was.

There is a strong link between reflux and cows milk protein allergy (80% but can't remember which way round, either 80% with reflux have allergy or 80% with allergy have reflux)

GL for getting it sorted out though

She's really spilling (well, she vomits), has just had a bad cold like the rest of us so halved her feeds, and now doesn't seem interested in milk (she prefers to suck the dummy than the bottle).

At birth she was 3.77kg (8lb5oz)
Discharged (2do) 3.49kg (7lb11ish oz)
1wo 3.5kg
2wo 3.64kg (7lb12.5oz)

I seem to remember Jack only taking a week to get past his birth weight. i know she lost a bit initially, but she just doesn't seem to be gaining well. Midwife isn't overly concerned, but is still checking in to see how feeding is going. She is a 4-hourly feeder (can't cut it down any more or she doesn't drink) and has only met the required amounts (is FF) for a few days in total. Wet and dirty naps are fine, so she's obviously getting something. She's having about 80-90ml a feed now (was only 40-50ml until yesterday while she was sick) and should be having about 100-120ml at least.

Are there any suggestions? Or can you just tell me how long it took your baby to get back to birthweight and beyond if they lost a bit in the first couple of days? Thanks. Not really worried, but it would be nice to see a gain.
