I don't pin her to it like they say to, but I do pin the velcro closed to stop her undoing it since she figured that out a few months ago. When they were swaddled I just swaddled them as normal and put them in it, the only thing to watch is that if you have the head of the cot elevated, they can slide down and get the safety sleep up over their face if it's not fastened securely enough.

All of mine went straight into them as newborns, except lil miss coz she was a hammock baby till 3 months.

Mum bought me a wedge yesterday. I was thinking to use the wedge in the bassinette and the safe t sleep in the cot as he will sleep in the cot during the day but think I may just use the wedge. Was only thinking to use the safe t sleep as we were given it as a gift when Jack was born and I have never even taken it out of the packet!!! Feeling a bit guilty about that

DS also tends to look in one direction no matter where i move his cot, and has developed a flat head on one side, so during the day plunket has us sleeping him on his side. we have 2 towells rolled up, put him on his side so his arm is out in front so he can flip and put the safety sleep around both the towels and the baby. its look hilarious but it keeps him off the flat spot and stops him rolling right over

I have the following q's:

* do you safety pin baby to the wrap like the instructions say?
* how do you combine the safe t sleep and a swaddle wrap? The instructions say to have an arm out but that seems to defeat the purpose of the swaddle
* how have you found using a swaddle and safe t sleep with side sleeping? With the swaddle it seems that Ben would end up sleeping on his arm which doesn't seem comfy.

TIA!!
